Want to die with regrets or satisfaction?

Do you know how does a regret sounds? If No then let me tell you how does it sounds:

“ Alas! I wish I had done that”

“ I wish I could bring that moment back and change it!”

“ I wish I had told her that I loved her ”

“ Only if I were given another chance I would have done it”

“ I wish I had applied for that job”

Now there is this thing called satisfaction which is entirely opposite to regrets. This is how satisfaction looks like:

“ I tried my best, I’ll try even harder next time”

“ I shared my feelings with her, she rejected but I believe I will find a better match”

“ I applied for that job and got rejected, I have high hopes that I will find a better job.”

Now that you pretty much know how does a regret sounds and what satisfaction is, let me tell you about the people who die; if we categorize them on the base of their final thoughts you will have two types of people.

  1. People who are going to die with regrets.
  2. People who are satisfied with the life they lived and have no regrets.

Think of life as a bucket. There are some people who daily find a new regret and put it inside that bucket and it stays there till the end of their lives. They keep on doing this and in the end they have a bucket full of regrets. They die under its weight and believe me it is quite painful to die with the weight of regrets.

Regrets comes when things do not work the way you want them to work. Now what you are going to do after that regret, matters. It decides whether you are going to die with regrets or with satisfaction. I believe no one of us wants do die with regrets. So what should we do then? What is the key?

The key is simple if things do not work the way you planned then there must be some  issue in your plan. You need to try it again with a better plan. But if you think your plan was perfect but still it did not work then you need to tell your self that you tried your best but now that it is not working there must be something better which your are meant to do or have.

So In the end I just want to say that if you want to have minimum regrets by the time of your death just follow these 3 rules:

  1.  Do it
  2.  If it does not work, do it with a better plan
  3.  If It still does not works, aim for something better, something you are meant for.
